Jarvis Quarterman
Owner, 200 - Sivananda TTC
I’m Jarvis, the heart behind this vision. If you had told me twelve years ago that I’d be teaching yoga, I might have laughed in disbelief. My journey into healing movement began in 2009 with NIA and yoga, and in 2018, I completed my 200-hour Sivananda TTC. Yoga has always been my guide, and I remain a lifelong student, forever grateful for the wisdom my teachers have shared.
Dr. Bombay’s began as a Sunday morning Zoom class! Dr.Bombay’s Colorful Queer Yoga Collective.Born out of the need for connection during the isolation of the pandemic. I saw the gaps in the yoga community, where accessibility for all bodies and identities was lacking. That inspired me to create something bigger: Starting with a pop-up yoga studio across Chicago, leading to a future dream of a zero-proof speakeasy with a hidden yoga studio. A space where everyone feels safe, seen, and sober. Dr. Bombay’s is more than a business; it’s a movement.
Dimitrie Luna
Co-Owner, 200 - Sivananda TTC
I’m Dimitrie Luna, co-owner of Dr. Bombay’s Holistic Bodega. Born in San Antonio, Texas, I spent my early years immersed in competitive sports like football and track, always pushing myself harder, never slowing down. Rest wasn’t something I understood—until I found yoga. In 2016, I took my first class, and to my surprise, I fell in love with it. I explored different styles like, Ashtanga, Yin, Bikram, Hatha—but I kept coming back to Sivananda. The spiritual depth and mindful connection it offered changed my perspective on movement and balance.
In 2018, I became certified at the Sivananda Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas, but I’ll always be a student of the practice. Yoga helped me grow in ways I never expected, and now, I want to share that with others. At Dr. Bombay’s, Jarvis and I are creating something special. Starting with a pop up yoga studio, then opening a zero-proof speakeasy with a hidden yoga studio. A space where everyone feels welcome, seen, and supported on their journey to healing and connection.
